Adam’s Masjid is located in Adam’s Arcade shopping mall, on main Ngong Road, Nairobi. It was established in the late 80’s when the family owning Adam’s Arcade built a temporary mosque in a front row plot that measures approximately half an acre (2000 M ). Today, the same area is home to a large, well to do and growing Muslim population with diverse backgrounds, including: local Kenyans, Somalis, Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, Sudanese, Turks and others.
Furthermore, the surrounding area has developed into one of the most prime locations in Nairobi, boasting several residential complexes, large shopping malls, churches, hospitals, and NGO offices.
The Need of the Hour!
As a result of the sharp rise in the Muslim population, the existing masjid can no longer cater to the growing needs of the community.
Many Muslims are unable to offer their Jum’uah prayers due to the lack of space and end up missing their prayers entirely. Furthermore, the masjid lacks the resources to facilitate other important functions, including: Islamic education classes, ghusl area, da’wah center, youth club and commercial area.
Thus, a new, larger, purpose-built, state-of-the-art Islamic center is critically needed at this time on Ngong Road!
